Channing starts to get attached to Stripes (Voiced by Frankie Muniz) and
comes to love him. She wants to follow the footsteps of her late horse racing
mother and she thinks that Stripes is a good candidate to train even though he
is not a horse. With the help of her dad, she begins to train Stripes for Derby,
at their Kentucky ranch.
But Stripes' competitors owners were very much agitated to see a zebra
contesting in professional horse racing. More over Stripes starts to think that
he is a horse and learns the tricks of professional horse racing. Will Stripes
be able to compete in the Kentucky Open? Will Channing be able to race
Stripes to victory? Make a guess, you won't be wrong!
Director Frederik Du Chav narrates a story with a predictable ending. It is a
slow moving film and the director has failed to develop it a brisk pace. He may be
trying to deliver some positive messages like "Be yourself and don't be
stupid". Hayden plays a lovable role that is heartwarming. The rest of the
live cast are good.
The movie has some enjoyable moments but the plot is not realistic and makes
it hard for the adults to enjoy it. As most of the kids are easy to please, they
might like this film. Movie has some crude language and ethnic stereotyping.
We rate this movie BELOW AVERAGE.
