Hudson plays Helen Harris, a young high powered Manhattan career woman who works as assistant to Dominique( Helen Mirren) in a big modeling agency. She has everything going for her until her sister and husband dies in a car accident and she finds out that they left the custody of their three kids to Helen. She decided to take care of teenager Audrey( Hayden Panettiere), little Henry (Spencer Breslin) and Sarah (Abigail Breslin). drawbacks.

From the very beginning it is not easy for Helen to act up as a surrogate mother, she rather feels like their big sister. Besides, her other sister Jenny (Joan Cusack) who's hurt that their elder sister did not leave the custody of the children with her, tries to rub in her flaws at every opportunity.

Eventually Helen changes from a super career woman to a mom and the children grow to accept her. But her career suffers as children and fashion business doesn't go hand in hand and she ends up loosing her job. She moves the family to a nice neighborhood in Queens and the kids are enrolled in a nearby Luthern school run by Pastor Dan( John Corbett). Pastor Dan, a single man helps Helen out with the kids and ends falling in love with her.

Movie is all about Helen, whose glamorous life turns upside down by the death of her sister and husband. From a self centered, care free woman she learns to give her love selflessly. Movie tries to address the practical issues of single mothers. Although some of the sequences pulls at your heartstrings, overall the movie lacks a real or practical touch with the facts of life.

Hudson is attractive and amusing and Pastor Dan is a lovable man. This is a mediocre movie which will appeal to a limited audience.

We rate this movie Average.
