This is a story of an airforce astronaut Leo Davidson (Mark Wahlberg)
whose ship crash lands on a planet ruled by simians and worked by human
slaves. Helena Bonham Carter plays a sympathetic ape who eventually joins
Wahlberg’s posse, as they try to escape from the apes, lead by an evil
general Thade (Tim Roth) and his First-in-Command Michael Clarke Duncan.
General Thade tries to convince the senate that humans are dangerous creatures
that must be exterminated by all means. Thade gets all the ammunition
required to unleash his army against the humans and apes rebel.
Highly talented Tim Roth and beautiful Helena Bonham Carter carry the
film very well. Roth did a wonderful job as the evil General Thade. Bonham
Carter gives an incredible performance as Ari, one of the few ape proponents
of human rights. Wahlberg played the role of the stranded astronaut very
well.
Director Tim Burton has produced a great cinematic masterpiece with good
visual effects, playfulness and wit. The disappointing aspect of the movie
is that it is ordinary without urgency or revelation
The movie has good entertainment value and is worth seeing for yourself.
We rate the movie as good.
