A sequel to Sandra Bullock's hit comedy "Miss Congeniality",
this is a story of a FBI agent who has to go undercover in order to
save the lives of her friends
The movie follows the FBI agent Gracie Hart (Sandra Bullock) who
successfully disarmed a threat against Miss United States and became
an overnight famous media celebrity. Now FBI pulls her off from the
field work and puts her on talk show circuit where she can educate
woman how to look good with the right make up and clothing. .
Gracie learns that her friend cum Ms US, Cheryl Frazier (Heather
Burns) and the pageant host MC Stan Fields (William Shanter) have
been kidnapped by some thugs who are demanding a ransom, in Las Vegas.
Gracie heads off to Las Vegas to do PR work for this latest case.
Gracie
is accompanied by the field agent, Sam Fuller (Regina King), who has
a problem with authority and anger management issues and doesn't like
Gracie. As the case was not getting any progress due to the lack of
coordination, Gracie gets frustrated with the PR work. She decided
to disobey the orders, get involved with the investigation, track
down the kidnappers and save the lives of her friends.
Director John Pasquin narrates an exhausting and predictable story.
Unlike the first film this one has no romantic subplot. He fails to
utilize the talents of the cast to the fullest extend. The direction
and the script are second rate. The plots are not good and there is
no focus on the investigation.
Beautiful, talented Sandra Bullock presents a semi decent performance.
As a Tomboy FBI agent, she is charming. Nothing great about the rest
of the cast. This movie has no comparison with the first film which
was absolutely magnificent and superb. As usual the original movie
is better, and this sequel is practically a money grabbing one. If
we consider movies as the reflections of our times, this one is nothing
great to brag about.
We rate this movie BELOW AVERAGE.
