Madagascar is a computer animated cartoon comedy which is all about
friendship.
The movie begins in the Central Park Zoo, New York,
where four animals Alex the lion (Ben Stiller), Marty the zebra (Chris
Rock), Melman the giraffe (David Schwimmer) and Gloria the hippo (Jada
Pinkett Smith) live together and entertain the visitors day by day.
Marty always wanted to explore the outside world and
one night he escapes from the zoo. He heads to the Grand Central Station
to catch a train. When his friends realize that he is missing, they
also manages to get out of the zoo and search for Marty. They cause
quite a panic on the streets of New York City. Soon the authorities
captures all of them and decided to ship them to Africa. All four of
them are crated
and put on a ship travelling to Africa.
After
a shipwreck, they wash up on the shores of Madagascar. They found the
place exotic but strange. They had to deal with the natives, a tribe
of lemurs and their self proclaimed chief King Julien (Sacha Baron Cohen).
At this point the movie takes an unexpected twist when Alex and Marty's
friendship is tested. Find out, what will happen to these four friendly
animals.
Directors Darnell and McGrath has successfully made
a technically brilliant film with the use of cutting edge computer animation.
The film looks so real and believable. It has clever jokes and is a
delight from beginning to end. Vibrantly lush jungle and the beautiful
cityscapes are definitely breathtaking. The screenplay is amusing.
Every member of the voice cast is perfectly matched
and the voice's are really good. Each character has been rendered with
great detail and care.
It is a movie about friendship which is good for the
youngsters. Moreover the colorful trip filled with adventure and fun
will be greatly entertaining for the kids. It has a positive message
of friendship and it is a real pleasant one.
