' Laws Of Attraction' is a romantic comedy aimed to attract matured and older audiences.

Daniel Raffelty played by Pierce Brosnan and Audrey Miller played by Julianne Moore are divorce lawyers on opposite sides in a high profile case of famous clients English rock star Thorne Jamison (Michael Sheen) and his fashion designer wife, Serena (Parker Posey).

Daniel falls for Audrey immediately, but Audrey is too uptight and says that she doesn't believe in dating or romance. As the case is centered on an Irish castle the estranged couples possess, Audrey and Daniel had to go to Ireland to interview the castle's staff. Instead of preparing for the case, they end up together at a romantic Irish festival.

After a night of wild party, they wake up next morning married. They decide to keep their martial status a secret, until the case is over. When they return to New York, the rivals turned spouses face a completely different situation in the courtroom. Their personal life becomes definitely a conflict of interest for the on- going court case.

Movie puts some light on how odd couples can get attracted and get hooked. As usual Brosnan is good with his macho role and Moore had played the role of an emotionally insecure woman very well. Still, the movie lacks sophistication mainly because of rather crude direction of Peter Howitt. Even though the main characters are lawyers supposed to deal with law, they spend their time talking about money, worldly possessions and sex.

We rate this movie Average.
