When the blonde bombshell, Elle Woods (Reese Witherspoon) and her little dog, Bruiser made their impression on Harvard Law in Legally Blonde, we all shared a laugh or two.

Now this fashionably impeccable Harvard lawyer has taken on even bigger challenges, this time it's on Capitol Hill. When Elle discovers that her friendly furry friends mother is a test animal at a cosmetics company, and that her high flying law firm supports and represents this company, Elle decides to head to Congress to fight against animal testing, leaving boyfriend Emmet (Luke Wilson) back in Boston.

While on the Hill, Elle runs into many barriers, including the fact that no one is willing to listen to her proposal. Staying at the Watergate, she befriends a doorman, played by Bob Newhart, who has been around long enough to teach her the ways of politics and helps her get her foot through the door. Elle also finds herself working with US Representative Rudd (Sally Fields) who begins the relationship as a friend to Elle, but then finds herself working more for her own goals.

This film has a bit of all heart-warming things- self-realization, striving beyond high set goals and hardships, a happy ending and even a wedding! Although the first film seems funnier and was the first of its type, this film tries very hard to reach the same goal, but falls short. The film is dragging at times, and although does have its high points, doesn't quite reach caliber and quality of the first film. Over all, we rate it as fair.
