Love actually written and directed by Richard Curtis is all about nothing but love in peoples life. The film deals with love both found and lost. The movie interrelates 10 romantic love stories happening in London.

Hugh Grant plays the newly elected bachelor Prime Minster of England. As soon as he walks into 10 Downing Street his first day at office, he falls for a young tea girl Natalie (Martine McCutcheon ) who brings him the tea and biscuits.

The other couples involve , writer Jamie (Colin Firth ) and his Portuguese maid Aurelia ( Lucina Moniz), widower Daniel (Liam Neeson) and the mother of his step son’s classmate, the Prime Minster’s sister Karen (Emma Thompson) and her husband Harry ( Alan Rickman ), Harry’s friend Susan (Laura Linney ) and a younger colleague Carl (Rodrigo Santoro) and a few more sub plots like Bill Nighy’s rock star and his manager and some other couples who change their partners.

The film deals with love in many forms in the lives of different people, like between siblings , spouses and definitely sexual and romantic love. It is not a traditional story or a single theme. Even though the movie is crowded with many characters, it brings out 10 or more different love stories. Hugh Grant and Colin Firth are definitely adorable and rest of the guys are handsome. There are a lot of naked women which is going to bring in a good number of young crowd.

Performance wise all the actors have done their parts well, be it Hugh Grant as the charming Prime Minister or Thomson coping with her breaking marriage or the adorable Martine McCutcheon as the Prime minister's secretary or Bill Nighy as the aging rock star as well as others have performed well.

The movie conveys that love is actually all around even in this materialistic mechanical world of ours though not on a smooth platter. It is a good romantic comedy that touches many aspects of love. It is a good holiday movie which can put some warmth into your heart and the feeling of love in your life. This is one of the funniest movies of the year 2003.
