Kill Bill Vol. 2

Director
: Quentin Tarantino
Screenwriter
: Quentin Tarantino

Directed and written by the veteran Quentin Tarantino 'Kill Bill, Vol.2' is not a sequel but a continuation to Vol.1 and it stands on its own. The film opens with the expert assassin Bride ( Uma Thurman) behind the wheel of a car, ready to accomplish her mission to kill Bill who was her former boss and lover.

Flash backs take us to the scene of a massacre at a wedding chapel and pregnant Bride was left comatose with a bullet in her brain. Bill was responsible for it, as he was deeply offended of her plans to marry a used record store owner and lead a normal life.

Bride was awakened after a long coma and she sets on a quest to avenge the members of the Viper Assassination Squad who harmed her. She makes a move to her next target, Bill's brother Budd ( Michael Madsen) and the one- eyed Elle Driver (Darryl Hannah ) known as California Mountain Snake. But Budd acts fast enough and buries the Bride alive and makes arrangements to sell her samurai sword to Ellen Driver.

The movie takes us back how the Bride persuaded the legendary sword maker Hattori Hanzo ( Sonny Chiba) to make that magical weapon for her. When he presented it to the Bride, he showed no modesty in saying "This is my finest sword. In your journey if you should encounter God, God will be cut". So that was a priceless sword. Trained under the Asian legend, warrior master Pai Mei( Gordon Liu ), the Bride was skilled enough to face and survive anything. Showdown with Budd and Ellen Driver was not a problem for the Bride to over come.

Tarantino skillfully spins a story of love and reflection in this movie. He tackles each and every situation in style. An excellent performance from Uma Thurman, brilliant cinematography and excellent visual effects and good screenplay make this movie good candidate for Oscar.

We rate this movie Very Good.
