The film is a romantic comedy based on the humor book 'How to lose a guy in 10 days' by Michele Alexander and Jeannie Long. The story is about a Columbia University graduate, journalist Andie Anderson (Kate Hudson) and an ad executive Benjamin Barry (Matthew McConaughey). As a "how-to" columnist, Andie has taken an assignment that she has to meet a guy, have him fall in love with her and then make him dump her, all with in 10 days. At the same time, Benjamin has made a bet with his boss that he can get a woman to fall in love with him in 10 days for the prize of landing a mega account.
For sure, Andie meets Ben at a bar and she tries her level best to become his girlfriend. Sexy and willing Andie succeeds in getting Ben's love, then she deliberately tries to drive him away with silly things like sending him out to get soda while they were watching the last minute of NBA finals game and makes him miss the winning moments. While Andie tries various ways to drive him away, Ben is determined to tolerate each of her endeavor to meet his end.

Like other "How to" movies, this film is also funny. Beautiful Kate Hudson prove herself to be really good. Matthew McConaughey has done justice to his role. Both of them make a great pair on screen. Even though the director has wasted some time in set ups etc with a hard to believe, stressed ending; still this is a good date movie.
