The second film in the Potter series, based on the bestseller book by J.K.Rowling, is a thriller for the kids as well as the adult audience. The movie begins with Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) being locked up in his room by his uncle Vernon, just days before, Harry is set to return to Hogwarts School Of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Dobby the house elf (digitally created) appears in Harry's room warning him that terrible danger awaits him at Hogwarts.

Harry escapes from his uncle's house with the help of his best friend Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint), who picks him up with his flying car, and the duo heads for the school of wizardry. Once there, Harry begins to hear mysterious voices and it turns out that the sinister Chamber of Secrets built by one of Hogwarts' founders, the nasty Salazar Slytherin has been reopened, the creature was set to free and had begun to attack students. One look from the beast can kill.

The mysterious problem to solve, is to find out, who opened the Chamber?. Unless the culprit can be found, the wizardry school will be doomed. At this point, Harry, Ron and Hermione Granger ( Emma Watson) make up a plan to find out who is and what is behind it all.

Compared with the first of this series, 'Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone' there had been considerable improvements in this film, including Chris Columbus's direction who seems more confident and more stylish. Daniel Radcliffe as well as his friends Rupert Grint and Emma Watson deliver likeable, more matured, more assured performances. Things get a bit muddy in the end, but that could add more richness to the book version.

Screen- writer Steve Kloves is well dedicated to every detail of J.K.Rowling's novel. It is a delightful sequel with spectacular adventures. A perfectly good story made into a perfectly good movie. There are plenty of amusing and computer generated inventive scenes. It has a great cast that portrait the characters perfectly. Even the two new characters, Lucius Malfoy, an evil wizard played by Jason Isaacs, and Gilderoy Lockhart the egocentric wizard author portrayed hilariously by Kenneth Branagh are perfect.

"Chamber Of Secrets" is magical enough for its audience. We rate this movie Very Good.
