A horror film that deals with the experience of two sex starved young
Americans who traveled to Slovakia.
The movie follows two American college buddies Paxton (Jay Hernandez)
and Josh (Derek Richardson) on their backpacking trip through Amsterdam,
where they meet another guy Oli (Eythor Gudionsson) from Iceland. The
trio had a good time in the red light district of Amsterdam where they
wandered through the bars and chased the prostitutes.
But, they were looking for something more thrilling and somebody told
them about a youth hostel in Slovakia where anything goes. As they were
eager for easy women, the trio decided to head towards Slovakia. When
they reached Slovakia, they dutifully checked into the hostel where they
were assigned a room with two beautiful young ladies Natalya (Barbara
Nedeljakova) and Svetlana (Jana Kaderabkova) as roommates.

The next morning, Oli turned
up missing and Paxton and Josh started having fun with the usually naked
Natalya and Svetlana. Right from the very beginning these two girls were
an easy catch for Paxton and Josh. But soon a series of bad things started
to happen to these two guys and they found out that the hostel is just
a recruitment
center for human trafficking. Find out what will happen to these two guys.
Director /writer Eli Roth skillfully narrates a tale of suspense and nightmare.
He based the whole film on a story about a Thai Internet business through
which, for $10,000, anyone can kill anybody else. He moved the plot to
Slovakia so that he can relate that country to the 1930's situation of
vampire films and related stories. He slowly builds the tension and suspense
in the film. He has a decent cast and draws a decent performance out of
them.
The film has suspense and humor but it is neither shocking nor terrifying.
It has highlighted the red light district of Amsterdam as well the adult
districts of Slovakia. The movie has bad language, strong sexual contents,
abundant number of beautiful topless women, nudity and sex. The lighting
and screenplay is poor. This film is going to give a bad reputation for
Slovakia's tourism industry.
We rate this movie AVERAGE.
