Larry Gigli (Ben Affleck) is a newly made mobster assigned to do a hit on the mentally impaired younger brother, Brian (Justin Bartha) of a powerful Federal prosecutor who is causing them business trouble. They want to kidnap the teenage boy in order to help save the mob boss (Al Pacino) from being sent to jail. Gigli's bosses, unsure of his ability to do the job, give him a partner, Ricki (Jennifer Lopez) a female contractor with a sharp edge

Gigli is an anti-social, crude and rough on the edges. Ricki is beautiful and enlightening, and a lesbian. Although Gigli isn’t thrilled with the pairing, he and Ricki soon hit it off. Gigli even becomes fond of Brian, questioning his ability as a hit man and wonders if this new relationship and change in his life has made him  soft

This film has its pluses and minuses, but mostly its minuses. The film has been reported to be a wannabe mixture of “Chasing Amy” meets “Rain Man” meets “Pulp Fiction”—not exactly a winning combination. The direction lacks sheen, the situations are ridiculous and the dialogues are obscene. The “jokes and witty banter” in the film was a bust and the main highlights of the film are merely the famous actors that make up the cast. Talents of veterans like Al Pacino and Christoher Walken has been wasted.

The film runs longer than needed, and to be honest, one can go without viewing the famous faces of J Lo and Ben on the big screen. We give it a poor rating.
