A romantic comedy about a 35 year old womanizer who found it convenient
to live at home with his parents.
Matthew McConaughey plays Tripp, a 35 year old boat salesman who is still
living with his parents. Basically he is a womanizer who loves fast cars
and expensive women or vice versa. He doesn't want to hook up permanently
with any women. When he gets too close with a girl, he takes her home
to meet his parents and tell her that he is still living with his parents.
He used it as a way to scare off an interested woman and every time it
did work.
His mom Sue (Kathy Bates) had been doing everything for him, like washing
his clothes, cooking his breakfast, making his bed- in fact taking care
of him as a baby. His dad Al (Terry Bradshaw) takes care of all other
homely duties. As Tripp had no responsibilities he spend a lot of time
with his friends Demo (Bradley Cooper) and Ace (Justin Bertha). Together,
they do things like rock climbing, riding mountain bikes and chasing good
looking women. But Tripp's parents are getting tired of his presence at
home and they decided to hire Paula (Sarah Jessica Parker), a professional
transition consultant, to get Tripp out of their house.
Paula had a good track record for helping frustrated parents make their
under matured children take their own responsibility and stand on their
own legs. In Tripp's case, Paula started with her usual tricks and after
a few dinner dates, Tripp was impressed by her charm and smartness. But
very soon Paula has to change her rule of "No sex with the client" and
she realized that she is falling in love with Tripp. Find out more about
these love birds and whether Paula succeeds in her attempt to make Tripp
responsible.

Director
Tom Dey narrates a funny tale with great wit and charm. Movie starts out
to be pleasant and takes a twist later. He utilizes the modern day phenomenon
of the real world, when the grown up children living with their parents
refuses to take charge of responsibilities of their own life, to build
up a valid comic tale. He lines up a good cast and has developed the main
characters pretty well.
Sarah Jessica Parker, as usual, is sexy and beautiful. As Paula, she presents
a good performance. Matthew McConaughey presents one of his best performances
so far. There is good chemistry between Parker and McConaughey and on
the screen they make a good looking couple.
It is interesting to see a film with a theme about the modern day "Boomer
age Generation". The story is kind of predictable. The film has profanity,
nudity, sexual contents and crude language but as an entertainer it is
good. It conveys a message to the world that it is pitiful that the majority
of the young generation that stays with their parents do it just out of
convenience but there are young people who have a valid reason to depend
on their parents and they deserve your sympathy.
We rate this movie GOOD.
