Bond's 007 agent designation is revoked that means he is not licensed
to kill any more. But his quest for revenge makes Bond travel to Cuba,
London and Iceland in search of the ruthless Zao (Rick Yune), the spy
for whom he was traded and who knows the identity of the person that
set him up for capture.
At a Cuban beach bar, Bond meets NSA agent Jinx (Halle Berry) who has
a sexy introduction to the film. He teams up with Jinx, sparks fly instantly
and they get romantically involved. They destroy a health clinic where
DNA transplants are made which can change the identity of bad guys like
Zao who happens to be the right hand man of billionaire Gustav Graves
(Toby Stephens). On his trail, Bond follows Mirand Frost (Rosamund Pike)
Graves personal assistant to get closer to the billionaire. He finds
out that Graves's goal is to control the world with the giant spaced
based laser weapon 'Icarus', a high- tech killer which he has developed.
This movie is shaping Bond for the future films with computer generated
effects and cool gadgets which are the things of the future. Director
Lee Tamahori's flashy style is very good. Like any typical Bond movie,
this film has lots of great action especially the spectacular chases
and fights in and around the ice palace; Gustav Grave's den in Iceland.
Pierce Brosnan's cool performance as Bond is enjoyable. The dashing
nearing 50 actor carries it off quite well this time. If he'll be able
to do it next time round needs to be seen.. OSCAR winner Halle Berry
looks lovely and hot. It is nice to see James and Jinx as lovers. The
leading pair makes an 'Excellent strong Bond'. The villains, Stephen
and Rick Yune does their menacing act. The theme song by Madonna is
well done. A must see for all Bond movie lovers with its fast paced
spectacular stunts, stylish venues, high tech gadgets and of course
beautiful women.
We rate the movie Good.
