Is love a chemical reaction ? When there is chemistry between two people, is it love or just chemistry? These are the the questions explored by 'Dopamine' , a romantic comedy directed by Mark Decena.

Rand (John Livingston), is a computer programmer. Together with his two friends he invents a creature 'Koy-Koy' using artificial intelligence for teaching children in a classroom setting. Sarah( Sabrina Lloyd) is a pre-school teacher who sometimes goes to a bar simply because she wants to get laid. Sarah sleeps with a guy on the first date. Rand and Sarah meet at a bar and make some romantic connections but Sarah goes home with Rand’s business partner Winston ( Bruno Campos ).

The two meet again when Rand goes to a classroom to test his 'Koy-Koy', and they begin to date. Rand maintains that he doesn't believe much in human love, at least on the surface. Now, Rand is forced to choose between real life and the artificial one, making the situation very complicated. In real life, Dopamine is a chemical messenger in the brain that affects the brain functions and at normal levels it controls the moods like pleasure and pain. Alcohol and other drugs increase the release of Dopamine.

In the movie, Mark Decena tries to portray the belief of Rand’s father, who was a scientist, that love is basically a chemical function and Dopamine has a lot to do with it. The movie taken in high-definition video, gives a panoramic and stunning view of San Francisco with the fog covered golden gate bridge and the beautiful surroundings. Performance wise Sabrina Lloyd shows intensity. John Livingstone as Rand is not up to the mark. Bruno Campos as his co worker shows more zest.

We rate this movie above average, it is a good High-Definition video love story.
