In this film, Dr. Nathan Conrad (Michael Douglas)is a top Manhattan psychiatrist with a beautiful home, a lovely wife (Famke Janssen) and an adorable eight year old daughter (Skye McCole Bartusiak).But all of that come crashing down when his daughter is kidnapped on Thanksgiving morning.She becomes a pawn in a scheme to retrieve an expensive stolen gem.

The kidnappers are freshly released thieves, led by Patrick Coster (Sean Bean), who wants Dr. Conrad to decipher a six digit number from one of his new patients, Elizabeth (Brittany Murphy), an 18 year old with self-destructive tendencies who has been in mental institution institution since the death of her father.This number is the only lead to the whereabouts of the ruby.

The story is a fast-paced movie, with never a boring moment.This film will keep your eyes glued to the screen.
