It is a tale of romance and mistaken identity that take place in an upscale American Indian resort.
Ray Clouds on Fire (Tim Vahle) is the general manager of a struggling ski
resort. Making the resort a fully booked hotel was Ray's dream. One day he gets a letter from the representative of review magazine saying
that soon someone will be coming to his resort to write a review of the place.
Ray with his staff start to get ready for this important visitor.
At the same time, Ray's father Joe Clouds on Fire (Sam Vlahos) had been
writing to a young woman named Tina Little Hawk (Mariana Tosca) from New
York. She decided to make a trip to the resort to meet her pen pal. When
Tina arrived at the resort, Ray mistook her for the magazine's reviewer.
On Tina's part she mistook Ray for her pen pal.

Tina got a
VIP treatment from Ray as well as his staff at the resort. As Ray and
Tina set out to charm each other, their feelings for each other blossom
into romance and love. In the meantime, when the real magazine critic,
(M.Emmet Walsh) arrived, he was totally ignored which resulted in some
unnecessary setbacks.
Writer-director Kate Montgomery presents a tale of mistaken identity and love,
with some charm and wit. In the film, she takes a deviation from the usual American Indian theme about their tribal problems and their living
conditions. She sets up the story in a Utah ski resort with a lot of Native American
Indians as actors and successfully develops a clean story.
Lead actors Tim Vahle and Mariana Tosca present an entertaining performance. There is good chemistry between them and as a couple they look good on
screen. Other members of the cast like Graham Greene and M.Emmet Walsh are also good.
As the plot develops it is easy to predict the rest of the story but the film has some value as an
entertainer. Cinematography is very good with the beautiful shots of Utah
locations. The movie definitely charms the audience with funny moments and comic
relief.
We rate this movie ABOVE AVERAGE.
