A horror thriller based on the fears of a disturbed young man who remembers the terrible experiences of his childhood.

Tim Jensen (Barry Watson) as a small boy is terrified by darkness in his room as he tries to sleep at night. One day when his dad comes into his room, the Boogeyman comes out of the closet and sucked his dad violently into the closet. After that he never heard or saw his dad again.

Fifteen years later,23 year old Tim still suffer from the traumas of his childhood. When his mother suddenly dies, Tim returns to hometown for the funeral. His psychiatrist encouraged him to spend a night in the old house in order to conquer Tim's phobias. Tim agrees and soon he has to face the Boogeyman whom he was always afraid of. Will this help Tim to overcome his emotional problems?

Director Stephen Kay unsuccessfully spins a horror story without much horror in it. Apparently he doesn't know much about horror and suspense. The story is confusing, uneventful and boring. The narration jumps back and forth with lots of flashbacks and unconnected scenes that goes in different directions. He tries to combine the ideas of childhood fears and supernatural belief. The style of storytelling is lame and the script is bad.

Barry Watson presents a charismatic performance as Tim. He portrays the fear and trauma suffered by a young man very well. The rest of the cast is not that great mainly because they don't get a chance to develop their roles. As a whole the movie fails to deliver any decent message to the audience. It is a badly directed film with nothing in the storage. The movie is as empty as the closet. This could be one of the worst movies of the year.

We rate this movie BELOW AVERAGE.
