How does a mail order bride sound to you? Well, to a quiet London bank clerk like John Buckingham (Ben Chaplin), it sounds like a dream come true. But little does he know, his bridal beauty a bit more than he can handle.

Nadia (Nicole Kidman), the Russia mail order bride, seemed to have hidden a few things from her "application" like the fact that she smokes like a chimney or the fact that she isn't as fluent as she said she was in English. For the truth is, the only word that she knows is yes!

As John tries to straighten up this mixup, it seems as though the dating service has gone out of business, and to his luck, he is stuck with Nadia. But luckily, she knows how to please a man, and John somehow learns to manage. The unlikely two establish a relationship, which even has some genuine affectin in it..

But boy does all hell break lose when Nadia's "cousins" Yuri (Mathieu Kassovitz) and Alexei (Vincent Cassel), come to celebrate her birthday. This leads in for the twist and turns for the rest of the film.

The dialog throughout the film is witty and intelligent. Chaplin plays the role of an innocent man becoming overcome with passion quite well and Kidman plays her role fearlessly, with grace and humor.

The film can be rated as good.
