Based on an anime that is very popular in Japan, the movie deals with the problems generated by the robots and computers that humans have created to serve them. Dubbed into English, the movie is filled with violence and has an adult theme.

In the year 2131, set in Olympus, a female soldier Deunan Knute is rescued from a world destroyed by endless battle. Olympus, the utopian city is ruled by Gaia, a super computer that knows everything about everybody, and seven sage-like elders who are members of the Legislative Council. The city is occupied by humans as well as 'Bioroids', a new race of humans with improved skills, higher intelligence and allegedly controlled emotions developed by research scientist Dr. Katherine.

In Olympus, Deunan finds her ex-lover, Briareos, who she thought had died on the fields of Africa. But Briareos has changed drastically and is now a 'cyborg' after a surgery that made him almost mechanical. Deunan finds out that the Bioroids are looking for a computer program that will enable them to get out from the human controls and make the humans redundant. But without the human help Bioroids cannot create the computer program. There ensues a power struggle. Find out who will write the program and help the Bioroids fight with the humans for freedom and independence.

Based on the Japanese manga comic by Shiro W Masamune, the director Aramaki produces a movie on a breakthrough technology "3D Live Anime". The movie portrays the struggle between humans and Bioriods very well. The director is trying to warn the world about the pitfalls of too much technological advancement. At the same time he is making a point about what makes humans human.

Movie has originality and lot of action scenes, the "3D" technology used is not good enough to impress the moviegoers. Robotic action sequences are excellent.

We rate this movie AVERAGE.
