A sequel to "Anaconda"(1997), it is a story about a plant and the fountain of youth. Some scientist of a pharmaceutical company discover that a rare orchid which only blooms once in seven years in the rain forests of Borneo hold the secret to immortality. The existing supply of that orchid were destroyed in lab testing and it is necessary to return to Borneo for more blooms and the blooming season last only two weeks.

The pharmaceutical company leases a river boat named Bloody Mary and prepare for an expedition. The boat is commanded by a former special force captain Bill Johnson (Jonny Messner) and the scientific team include four men Dr.Jack Byron (Matthew Marsden), Gordon Mitchell (Morris Chesstnut), Dr. Ben Douglas (Nicholas Gonzalez) and Tran (Karl Yune), two women,Gail Stem (Salli Richardson-Whitfield) and Samantha Rogers (KaDee Strickland) and a comic relief named Cole Burris (Eugene Byrd).

As this multi ethnic team head into the rough Borneo waters, they had to face bad weather and bad surroundings. They discover that it is the mating season for the deadly anacondas in Borneo and this peculiar blood orchids have allowed the snakes to grow much bigger than their normal size. The team eventually stumble across the giant snake and start getting picked off one by one. Who do you think the snake kill off first, make a wild guess.

The original " Anaconda" was an exciting film but this sequel has no comparison to it. The majority of the cast members are obscure actors with the exemption of Morris Chestnut. Even though it has a fearless cast, it is a stupidly plotted and badly acted film. The special effects are fine but it has too many twists and not serious at all. Viewers may feel that the movie is as dumb as the title suggests. If you are fan of beautiful Salli Richardson-Whitfield, you may like it, otherwise it is a waste.

We rate this movie Below Average.
