Henry Roth( Sandler) is a Hawaiian veterinarian. He is a ladies man, who spends much of his free time seducing noncommittal female tourists. One day he meets adorable Lucy Whitmore (Barrymore) at a cafe'. They have a good conversation and plan to meet again the next day. But the next day when he shows up, she has no idea who he is. As a result of an accident a year back, Lucy has lost her short term memory and every night when she goes to sleep, she forgets everything that happened to her that day. Everyday it is the day of the accident for her. Her father Marlin (Blake Clark) who feels responsible for her accident and brother Doug (Sean Austin) tries to protect her from knowing she has this handicap. They pretend that every other day is the day of the accident for her.

Henry falls in love with her, so against the wishes of her family, he decides to meet her everyday to win her love and affection. Henry tries hard repeatedly, to make her remember things, but never gets more than 12 hours of recollections from her. So literally every day their love is new- He woos her again and again so that she wont forget he's the one for her. Lucy is wooed and every time she says " there is nothing like a first kiss".

Peter Segal has built a comedy around the thrill of first love and attraction as well as the challenge of finding something in the heart to hang onto. The final scene is especially very romantic in a truly unexpected fashion. The movie belongs to Barrymore. Actually, it is a romantic reunion between Sandler and Barrymore. Hilarious Sandler and sweet Barrymore makes a perfect match. Sandler plays his role very well and it is another Sandler classic. Even though the movie is sweet and romantic with a good story and a happy ending, it is not without flaws-some of the jokes are in bad taste.

Overall we recommend this movie because it is entertaining and there are plenty of laughs. Go see it. We rate this movie Above Average.
