'13 Going On 30' is a New York romantic comedy in which a child is occupying the body of an adult. In 1987, Jenna Rink (Christa B.Allen) on her 13th birthday wished that she was 30 years old, mainly because as a teenager her life was a mess, and she believes that she could achieve her dream life and all her problems will be over, when she is 30.

The next morning when she wakes up, she is still Jenna Rink, but the year is 2004, and she is 30 years old (Jennifer Garner). She has a dream life with a posh job as the editor of POISE, the magazine she admired and which influenced her in her teens. She also has a boyfriend who is a star hockey player and many high flying friends.

But she finds that she accomplished all her dreams as a back stabbing bitch. She had no time or regards for others at all. She realises that she was not a nice person. Now she wants change it all and be a better person. So, she struggles to make herself into a kinder and gentler Jenna.

This movie has a different theme that is aimed at the teenagers. It shows that life doesn't have to be without problems even if you are grown up and the choices that we make as a teenager does matter as one gets old. Jenna's wish to be cool has resulted in loneliness and empty relationships for her in her older age. Jennifer Garner's brilliant performance has made this movie a success. She is charming and does an excellent job. It is a loveable movie for all age groups.

The film can be rated as good.
