The first look of 'Sarkar Raj' was unveiled to select
guests here and Amitabh Bachchan was thrilled with the event, the
film's promo and the fact that Abhishek and Aishwarya spoke to the
audiences live from Miami.
"The event was just so enthralling. The film, the promo and
most of all the children (Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai) live
from Miami with us on this very auspicious day, their anniversary.
It was a personal moment and yet so public," Amitabh told IANS.
However, the focus of the Sunday event shifted somewhat from the
film to the couple of the evening - Aishwarya and Abhishek - who celebrated
their first wedding anniversary and talked via videoconference.
Naturally, the media got more interested in the couple's anniversary
plans than their take on the film.
In fact, Aishwarya was quizzed as much about Shankar's "Robot"
and Karan Johar's "Dostana" as "Sarkaar Raj".
But director Ram Gopal Varma didn't seem to mind. He was just thrilled
to be the first filmmaker to bring his film's stars to the media via
satellite.
"In fact, this could set a new precedent. Stars could now refuse
to show up for film events and just speak to the media from home,"
he said jokingly.
A sequel to "Sarkar", the film is set to release June 6.
