This fortnight long Island Tourism Festival, organized by the Andaman & Nicobar Administration every year between December and February in Port Blair is the main festival of the islands. The festival comprises an exhibition, cultural programmes, competitions, etc. Government agencies and private entrepreneurs from the islands and mainland India also attend the exhibition organized during the festival.

This fifteen-day long festival of dance, drama and music showcases the arts and crafts, flora and fauna and marine life of Port Blair, Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Aqua sports, tele-games and parasailing are added attractions. Dance performances from the troupes residing in different islands are organized. Cultural troupes and artistes of national and international fame are invited to perform during the festival apart from performances by the local tribals. Water sports competitions like Nicobari Hodi race are organized. The festival projects the image of the islands as an eco friendly tourist destination.

Other attractions are Magic show, Puppet show, Floating restaurant, Baby show, Dog show, Canoe Race, Scuba Diving etc.

How to get there

Air: Port Blair, on South Andaman, has fights from Kolkata  (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday) and Chennai (Monday, Wednesday and Friday).

Sea: There are ships sailing from Kolkata  and Chennai every alternate week and Vishakapatnam once every month or so.

Road: Local buses are available from the bus stand in central Port Blair to the main places in the island.
