Rediscover your passion for Design, Design and Innovation Academy (DIA) a leading
Design Institute organized a unique design event PRISM 2009 to mark the graduating
ceremony of DIA'S first batch of Fashion, Textile & Jewellery Design students
at Radisson, MBD Hotel, Noida. A Fashion Show was presented along side display
of Innovative and Graduating Collection of Jewellery & Textile Design students,
Various Promotional Displays by designers, various brands, sponsors & DIA
students were also part of the two day event.
DIA'S endeavor is to train youngsters to become responsible
and intense design professionals. In continuation to its ongoing efforts in
this regard this interactive event was designed as a platform between the industry,
the market and the academia, and witnessed the participation of renowned designers
and leading brands representing various design streams.
DIA'S Managing Director Ms Shilpi Gupta and IMS President Rajiv
Gupta welcomed the Guest at the well attended event with glitterati from Fashion
world and Delhi's pg 3 circle appreciating the Jewellery designs and stylish
collection of DIA students. Naveen Agarwal, Chairman IMS Society as Chief Guest
awarded the students their graduating Diplomas.
The Fashion Shows was a huge hit with ravishing models like
Tina Chatwal, Ritu Singh, Barkha Kaul, Donna Masih, Ekta Chaudhary, Ashita,
Kajal Shrivastav, Himani Thapa, Ankuta Jain, Anchal setting the ramp at fire
with their oomph and style presenting innovative breathtaking array of designs,
contemporary ornaments, with intricate settings which promises to add awesome
effect to any occasion .A fabulous attempt by DIA students.
Mr. Rajiv Gupta President IMS said, "DIA is a one-stop
institute for those who want to learn about the fashion industry,” she says.
“This holistic understanding leads to competency and efficiency. The institute
also offers space for research and higher studies. This is what makes it unique.
The exhibition was packed with lots of excitement with sparkling
presence of celebrities and renowned faces from glamour world. Although, the
glittering Designs presented by models remained the main attraction. DIA embodies
perfection in everything they do – be it Jewellery or design. With mouth watering
delicacies and Cocktails doing the rounds the guest had a fun evening ,a true
memorable event that warmed up the chilly winter night and lifted spirits within
many a hearts .

DIA was established in 2005 as the Academy of Fashion &
Jewellery Design, with an objective of providing good design education. Over
a period of time the Academy has evolved and matured as an Institute sustaining
multiple design specializations like Fashion, Textile, Jewellery, Interior and
Multimedia & Animation, Graphics& Fashion Business.
DIA'S endeavor is to train youngsters to become responsible and intense design
professionals. The government's announcement of the National Design Policy encouraged
DIA to contemplate and start a dialogue with the industry on various issues
raised therein. The development of the designs is as important as the final
product and since the Academy trains the students rigorously in all aspects
of design throughout their course, each of the students would be displaying
their entire design process preceding the development of the final collection.
DIA has made a name for itself in the world of fashion and design. The Institution
is the 8th wing of IMS Society which is a non-profit making body. The society
was constituted in 1996 by a group of leading academicians and the stalwarts
of the corporate in North India. The society started imparting quality education
in the year 1996. Currently more than 10,000 Students are receiving education
of excellence from 350 distinguished permanent faculties in 7 Institutes located
at Delhi-NCR and Uttaranchal.
DIA’s strong academics are completely supported by its industry
linkages not only in India, but across the globe. Our international partners
are LDT, Nagold (Germany), Esmod (Paris), University of Huddersfeild (UK) and
Polimoda (Italy) along with Retailers Association of India (RAI) in our country
.The institute offers lots of integrated programmes in Fashion Technology, Jewellery
Design, Multimedia & Animation Toy and Games Design, Textile Design, Interior
Design, Graphic Design, Advertising Design and Fashion Retail Management covering
almost all aspect of design and Fashion Technology.
The aim of DIA is to equip a student with the skills that he
or she would need in the world of fashion and Design. It gives students knowledge
of Design skills, as well as a sound grounding in fashion, history, concepts
and understanding. Students at DIA feel that its various learning schemes allow
them to explore their talent and creativity. Students stress that DIA equips
them with the right set of skills the industry demands. The institute, they
say, is not so much about fashion as about design. “Here we learn designing,
which is our base. Designing involves a certain level of understanding and observation
along with polishing of skills,” says a student. Students and teachers share
a strong bond. Design & Innovation Academy is a perfect stepping stone for
students to innovate & design lifestyle with self confidence, positive attitude
and refinement.
