Miss World 2008

Ksenia Sukhinova, 21-year-old beauty queen from Russia won the Miss World 2008 after beating 108 other international beauties in a glittering function held in Johannesburg, South Africa. She was crowned by her predecessor Miss World 2007, Zhang Zilin of the People's Republic of China.

Sukhinova was born in a small town in northern Russia called Nizhnevartovsk in 1987. She lives in Tyumen, Siberia, where she is a student at the Tyumen Oil and Gas University, enrolled in the Bachelor of Science program, majoring in Engineering. Ksenia Sukhinova was recognized as an outstanding student in 2006 at the University. She likes to travel, spend time with her parents, friends & cat. Her hobbies include Sports, Dancing , Music, Cinema & Art. Her ambition is to become a supermodel.

Ksenia, first came into the spotlight after representing Tyumen in the 2007 Miss Russia pageant. She surpassed 50 other contestants from all over Russia & took home the title. Due to her college obligations, studying for an engineering degree, she was unable to compete in the 2008 Miss Universe competition, so runner up Vera Krasova replaced her. Sukhinova also won the contest’s top model award and was third in the swimsuit competition. Ksenia is absolutely stunning with measurements being 5”10’, with blonde hair and sparkling blue eyes.

Ksenia Sukhinova is the second Russian contestant to win Miss World title; the first was Julia Kourotchkina in 1992.
