Miss
World 2000 Priyanka Chopra, the fifth Indian to win the coveted crown was born
in Mumbai to Capt. Dr. Ashok Chopra and Dr. Madhu Chopra. Priyanka is a genuine,
selfless, down to earth, warm and loving personality. She completed her high
school education from Boston USA. Priyanka was persuaded by her friends to take
part in the Miss Bareilly contest and from there she went on to win Fa Femina
India-World 2000 title and then the World pageant which changed her life
drastically. Her family, especially her mother has been her sole inspiration.

Chopra is the latest of beauty queens to join the Bollywood film industry. She
did a three month acting course in Mumbai and has signed up films in Hindi and
Tamil. Her debut was in a Hindi film 'Andaaz' opposite Sunny Deol.. Her
recent films 'Barsaat', 'Waqt', 'Yakeen' etc has established her as one of
Bollywood's top actresses at the moment.
