Hair Care Tips

Hair Problems & Remedies  | Hair Treatment | Basic Hair Care Tips | Hair Care Tips from Nature

  • Brush your hair regularly before going to bed each night.

  • Wash your hair with a mild shampoo. Use very little but enough to cover hair completely with lather. Use a conditioner to keep hair manageable.

  • Avoid brushing wet hair. This will cause the hair to stretch and finally break. Finger-dry, or use a wide-toothed comb instead of a brush to gently remove the knots.

  • Restrict blow-drying your hair. The process of blow-drying is harsh on hair as it robs it of moisture.

  • Avoid dyes. Use mehandi (henna) instead as a conditioner and colouring agent.

  • Take a calcium supplement or drink two glasses of milk a day.

  • Always hold hair dryer away from your hair. Direct air from the hair dryer down hair shaft and not directly into the roots and keep it moving.

  • After a perm, never brush your hair. Instead comb hair gently.

  • Trim your hair once in 7 weeks  to avoid split ends.

  • Avoid pulling back your hair tightly.

  • Never use a rubber band on your hair as it can pull and damage hair considerably.

  • Never go out in the sun without having your head covered.

  • Stimulate circulation by massaging your head with oil to which some vitamin E has been added. This will make hair soft and silky.

  • Never wash your hair with very hot or very cold water.

  • Learn to relax. Hair loss can happen because of stress. Eat foods that are rich in vitamin B, C and E.

  • Add iron and minerals in the natural form in your diet.

  • If your hair is oily, cut down on fried food and fat. Drink plenty of water.

I have an query to be asked actually i have STRAIGHTEN my hair twice once (in Dec '09 & next in Dec '10.).Now my problem is that my hairs are turning Rough & Dry.M using LOREAL shampoo suggested by the Parlor people to maintain my straighting. They have also suggested me to do HAIR SPA but its not always possible to do so as its charges are too high. So, please suggest me something through which i can make my hairs long, silky, strong, smooth, shiny & ofcourse beautiful...with a minimum cost....

Ans:  Hi.. going to parlours and wasting money and time is not advisable... you can have homemade remedies to have a healthy looking hair.... 1. Heat olive oil, cocunut oil and almond oil with a camphor ball... 2.Massage the scalp very well with the oil. 3. Use a big toothed comb to comb your hair from root to tip.. 4. if possible steam you hair for 5 min. 5. Shampoo it nicely 6. Use conditioner the same day or apply henna the next day

HI, MY NAME IS NIHARIKA. I'M A MEDICAL STUDENT. MY HAIR ARE LONG, THEY TOUCH ALMOST THE POINT WHERE THE LEGS MEET THE BUTTOCKS. I HAVE CURLY HAIR AND MY HAIR THICKNESS WAS FAIRLY GOOD. NOW MY HAIR HAVE STARTED FALLING, THEREBY REDUCING THE THICKNESS OF MY HAIR. SINCE I'M A STUDENT AND HAVE LONG HAIR, IT IS NOT POSSIBLE FOR ME TO WASH MY HAIR VERY OFTEN IN A WEEK; NEITHER CAN I WEAR A CAP TO AVOID HEAT, NOR CAN GO FOR TIME CONSUMING REMEDIES.SO PLEASE SUGGEST ME SOME MEASURES TO INCREASE THE THICKNESS AS WELL AS LENGTH OF MY HAIR. ALSO SUGGEST THE TYPE OF PRODUCTS I SHOULD USE.
