Goan Fish Pulao

Ingredients:

  • Rice - 2cups
  • Mussels or shell fish - 1cup
  • Finely chopped big onion - 1no
  • Finely chopped tomato - 1no
  • Ground green chillies - 3nos
  • Red chilies - 4nos
  • Bay leaves - 3
  • Cinnamon - 1"piece
  • Cloves - 3nos
  • Cardamoms - 4nos
  • Turmeric - 1/2tsp
  • Red chilli powder - 1tsp
  • Oil - 3tbs
  • Salt - to taste

Method of Preparation :

Wash and soak rice for 1/2hour. Drain.

Heat oil in a pan. Saute bay leaves, cinnamon, cloves, cardamoms and red chilies. Add green chilli paste and stir for a minute. Add onions and sauté till golden. 

Add chopped tomatoes and simmer for 2 minutes. Add the shell fish or mussels and fry for 5 minutes. Add salt, turmeric, red chilli powder and fry for 7-10 minutes. 

Add rice and 3 cups of water and mix well. Cover the pan and cook till rice is done. Serve hot.
