Dal Kofta

Ingredients :

   

Chana dal

- 1 cup

Cumin seeds

- 1 table spoon

Dhania

- some
Red chilli powder    
Salt - to taste

Cilantro

   

Oil

- to fry

For Gravy :

   
Oil
   
Cumin seeds
   
Chopped onions
   
Ginger garlic paste
- 1/2 spoon
Turmeric powder
- 1/2 spoon
Tamarind juice
- some
Cumin powder
- some
Dhania powder
- some
Red chill powder
   
Salt
- little bit
Corriander    
 



Method :

Take one cup of chana dal and allow it to soak for 3-4 hrs. now take a blender and add the soaked chana dal, one table spoon of cumin seeds,some dhania, red chillipowder and salt(to taste). Add some cilantro and blend it well.

Now prepare small balls from the blended mixture and sprinkle with corn flour all round the ball. corn flour wil not allow te koftas to stick.Heat some oil to fry the koftas. koftas are ready.

To prepare te gravy take some oil and add some cumin seeds. after the seeds pop up add finely chopped onions. fry te onions till golden brown, then add a half a spoon of ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder. add some tamarind juice, cumin powder, dhania powder, red chill powder and salt (a little bit as we have already added in the kofta) corriander. allow it to boil and then put the koftas in the gravy.

serve hot with rice or paratas.

Note : We can use egg in place of corn flour
