Chaura Bazaar situated in the heart of the old city is the center of attraction for shopping. This hundred years old bazaar is said to be the commercial capital of Ludhiana. Chaura bazaar is also famous for its drug market at Pindi Street, the largest drug market in the area. The bazaar also consists of very old and famous business outlet such as Lyal Book Depot and Khushi Ram’s Sweet Shop which are said to be the landmarks of the Chaura bazaar, hosiery market in Purana Bazaar with large number of wholesale and retail shops for selling hosiery items, , wholesale cycle market along Gill Road from where bicycles and cycle parts are supplied to different parts of the country and abroad, Sunday bazaar which opens only on Sunday while all the other shops are closed. The original outlet of new markets like The Mall, Ghumar Mandi, College Road, Cemetery Road, Pakhowal Road, Model Town and Sarabha Nagar can also be found in Chaura Bazaar.
