Janmashtami

The festival is celebrated on the birthday of Lord Krishna (during Ashtami Rohini). On this day temples are beautifully decorated and devotees take fast and visit temples on the occasion and take their meals only after midnight , as it is said that Lord Krishna was born at midnight on the eighth day of Hindu lunar month, Shravana. It is believed that Lord Vishnu reincarnate in the form of Lord Krishna on the auspicious day of Janmashtami.
