This is one of the oldest traditional festival which was celebrated during the reign of Holkar and continues even today. People of Indore celebrate Rangapanchami more or less in the same manner as holi, but they mix the colors with water in a different style. On the festive day the local municipal corporation spray the colorful water on the Indore streets . Earlier fire brigade vehicles were used for this purpose. As a part of the festival musical performances and traditional songs are conducted.
