All Saints Church

 

All Saints Church situated in Khadki (an important military center of the British) about 6kms from Pune is one of the ancient churches in Pune. The church was established on 29th October 1869 during the British regime. The British soldiers and officers built the church on government land especially for the British soldiers of Southern Command. The whole part of the Church excluding the Pulpit was built with black stones.  Built in the Gothic tradition the church consists of slanting red roof, regimental colors of the 23rd Bombay Light Infantry, rise/ lancet/ dormer windows/ aedicule etc. The church preserves the flags of those times. Wooden articles and the wood used for the doors and windows were imported from Burma. The glasses imported from Belgium are decorated with beautiful colored designs. The church offers services in English, Marathi and Malyalam. The then Governor, the commander in chief of the southern command etc visit the church to offer prayers. The church became a part of the Churches of North India, Diocese of Pune.
