Phutala Lake/ Telankhedi lake (Futala Lake)
 

Phutala Lake (Futala Lake) sometimes known as Telankhedi Lake, located in the western area of Nagpur about 6kms from the city center was said to be exists for more than 200 years. Built by Raje Bhosle, the Futala lake known for its charming atmosphere and coloured fountains is the favourite hangout of all age groups. The lake is surrounded by lush green forest on the 3 sides and the beautiful landscaped chowpatty on one side. The newly constructed pathway with granite stone paving, landscaping beams, garden bays, decorative lamps, benches, three floating fountains - two colored fountains of 15 feet and one white and fountain of 100 feet, immersion Ghat with three ramps on South side and the guard wall of lake with sand beach on North side etc makes the lake one of the most attractive tourist spot in the city. The pleasant atmosphere and picturesque surrounding make it a wonderful picnic spot visited by numerous people daily. It looks stunning in the evening with the imposing illumination of colored halogen lights. From here, one can get a spectacular sunset view over the mountain across the lake.
