Aurangabad is known throughout the country for its rich fabrics and art and crafts. The city is famous for paithani silk sarees, himroo shawls, mashroo and kimkhab weaves and world famous silver inlay craft of bidriware. Himroo shawl is a blend of cotton and silk giving the feel of satin. One can also shop for jewelry and semi-precious stones, especially Agate in a variety of forms and sizes.

Gul Mandi is one of the largest bazaars in Aurangabad, famous for the Paithani saris which are a hot favorite amongst women shoppers. The bazaar does not have any authentic shopping malls, but variety of goods are sold here. 

Cannought shopping market is another shopping are famous for selling Kam Khab, the golden and silver thread combined with cotton which is used for making the elegant Himroo shawls and sarees.
