Kala Ghoda
Kala Ghoda lies between Colaba and Fort, on K Dubash Marg is an area containing cultural institutions, a number of galleries and some of Mumbai's most impressive colonial architecture. The Kala Ghoda fair, a celebration of regional arts and crafts, is held every Sunday in K.Dubash Marg between November and January.

Town Hall & Library
The neoclassical Town Hall  at Shahid Bhagat Singh Road is used for concerts, functions and political meetings and is home to 'Royal Asiatic Society of Bombay Library'. This is an imposing building with Doric columns at the head of a broad flight of stairs.

Bombay Stock Exchange
India's largest stock exchange is housed at Dalal Street. Its daily trading volume is counted in billions of rupees, making it Asia's largest stock exchange after Tokyo. It was founded in 1877. The present Stock Exchange building was built a hundred years later. Around 8000 companies are listed on the Bourse.

Flora Fountain
Flora Fountain now known as Hutatma Chowk (Martyr's square) is a beautifully sculptured fountain, standing at a busy five-point intersection in the commercial Fort area at the heart of Mumabi. Named after the Roman goddess of abundance, it was erected in 1869 in honour of Sir Bartle Frere, the governor of  Bombay responsible for dismantling the fort and shaping much of modern Mumbai. This political hot spot is usually occupied for political rallies.

Secretariat
The Secretariat is on Bhaurao Patel Marg. This huge building dating from 1874 was designed in Venetian Gothic style by Colonel St. Clair Wilkins. The main features are the long arcaded verandas that overlook the maidan (ground) and an imposing central tower. Now this is home to the civil and city courts.

Bombay University
Bombay University located at Bhaurao Patil Marg was designed by Gilbert Scott, who designed the St Pancras Station in London. It contains a convocation hall with an exquisite circular stained-glass window surrounded by the signs of the Zodiac, an university library with elaborate spiral staircases and ornate galleries and a Rajabai clock tower 80 meter high. The main university campus is now at outlying Kalina, which has given the university, the British Council and the Heritage Society the opportunity to begin restoring these buildings to their former glory.

High Court
The neo-Gothic High Court on Bhaurao Patil Marg was designed by Colonel JA Fuller in 1878. It is an immense fortress-like structure 562 feet long and 189 feet wide in dour blue basalt. The court contains arched galleries, a bulky central tower and octagonal turrets topped by figures of Mercy and Justice. 

The Bombay, Baroda & Central Indian (BB&CI) Railway Headquarters
The BB & CI office in the centre of Veer Nariman Road and Maharshi Karve Road was built in 1899 next to Church gate station. It was designed by Frederick Stevens. It is a fanciful palatial building in a hybrid style that has been dubbed Oriental Gothic. It is now the administrative headquarters of Western Railway.

General Post Office (G.P.O)
The largest GPO in India, with its grand Indo-Saracenic edifice designed in 1909 by John Begg, stands opposite Bazargate, the old northern entrance to the Fort, on St. Georges Road. It is the largest GPO in India, accommodating more than 2000 postal workers. It is topped by a huge dome.

Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation Building
This V-shaped building is situated at the centre of Dr D Naoroji Road and Mahapalika Marg. The building was designed by Frederick Stevens and built in the Oriental Gothic style. It is the largest civic organisation in India, and administers an area of 434 sq km.

Marine Drive
This is one of Mumbai's most popular promenades and sunset-watching spots. Build on land reclaimed from Back Bay in the 1920s, the marine drive starts from below the hanging gardens on Malabar Hill, runs along the Arabian sea and ends at Nariman point. In the night, the colour full line of lights give a picturesque view.
