Mumbai University located at Bhaurao Patil
Marg was designed by Gilbert Scott, who designed the St Pancras Station
in London. It contains a convocation hall with an exquisite circular stained-glass
window surrounded by the signs of the Zodiac, an university library with
elaborate spiral staircases and ornate galleries and a Rajabai clock tower
80 meter high. The main university campus is now at outlying Kalina,
which has given the university, the British Council and the Heritage Society
the opportunity to begin restoring these buildings to their former glory.
