St. Stephens Church, Manjinikara
Also known as Manjinikkara Church, St. Stephens Jacobite Syrian Cathedral, located atop a hillock is at a distance of 4kms from Pathanamthitta. This major Christian pilgrim center, in modern style of architecture, was founded by Kassisso Skaria Malpan Elavinammannil in 1925 and was renovated in 1964. The main altar of the church is dedicated to St. Stephen and the altars on either sides are devoted to mother Mary and St. John the Baptist. The mortal remains of Mar Ignatius Elias III (the holy Patriarch of Anthiod) Mor Yulius Elias Qoro and Mor Yulius Yacoub (former Patriarchal delegates to Malankara) are preserved in this church. The death anniversary of Mar Ignatius Elias is celebrated as the annual festival of the church and it is held on 13th February with much pomp and merriment.

St. Mary's Orthodox Syrian Church, Niranam
St. Mary's Orthodox Syrian Church popularly known as Niranam Church is situated about 9 kms away from the headquarters of the Thiruvalla Revenue Division. This famous ancient Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church in India is believed to be one among the seven and a half churches built by St. Thomas Apostle in AD 54. The present church was constructed in the year 1912, and was reinforced during 2000.

Of the 5 altars, the main altar at the center, in the name of St. Mary is used for usual services of the church. The altar on the northern side is consecrated to St. George and that on the southern side to St. Behanan. To the front of the main altar, there are two smaller altars, one on the northern side devoted of St. Thomas and other on the southern side to St. Stephen. These altars are also the shrines of Marthoma II and Marthoma V. In front of the church, there is a huge, tall granite cross that is located at the right side of the entrance. A statue of St. Mary carved in marble and another in pure gold are the proud possessions of the church. Other attractions are the exquisite mural paintings, 500 years old vase and equally old brass lamps, relics of St. Thomas, remnants of the old church, the golden cross etc. 

Several feasts are held in the church and the most important among these is the feast of Assumption of St Mary (Vaangipu perunnaal) celebrated on 15th August every year. On September 8th, the fast of Nativity of St Mary ( Ettu nompu ) is also celebrated on a large scale. Other feasts held here are the feast of St Thomas on 21st December, feast of St. Behanan on 27th December and the feasts of Marthoma II and Marthoma V on 10th May.

St. Peters & St. Pauls Orthodox Church, Parumala
The Parumala St. Peters and St. Paul's Orthodox church, situated in Mannar on the banks of river Pampa, is about 13 kms away from Thiruvalla. The church is renowned as a centre of worship for all religious communities and as one of the main pilgrimage centers for Christians in Kerala. It contains the mortal remains of Mar Gregorios Metropolitan known as Parumala Thirumeni who was the first declared saint of the Malankara Orthodox Church. The old church, believed to be built in 1825 AD was completely demolished, retaining the holy altar and the room where the mortal remains of Thirumeni are entombed and a new church was constructed.

The ormaperunnal (commemoration day) of the Parumala Thirumeni is celebrated on 1st and 2nd of November with a grand ceremonial procession. Special rituals and prayers are held on these days which is attended by thousands of devotees. 

Mass timings :
The holy mass is conducted at 7am on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and at 7.30am on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday and at 8.30am on Sundays .

Paliaka Church (St. George Orthodox Church, Thiruvalla)
St. George Orthodox Church also known as Paliakarapally, is one the oldest and famous churches situated in Thiruvalla town, 30 km from Pathanamthitta. Constructed in typical Christian style of architecture, the church has a beautiful collection of mural paintings. Thiruvalla is the headquarters of the Malankara Marthoma Syrian Church.

Mar Thoma Sleeha Church, Nilackal (Chayal church)
Believed to be constructed in AD 54, St. Thomas Church alias Mar Thoma Sleeha Church at Nilackal is one among the 7 and half churches founded by the Apostle Thomas. Also known as Arapally (half completed church), it was located on the eastern bank of the Pampa river close to the Sabarimala pilgrimage and the Nilackal temple originally. But the old church was completely destroyed and a new church was constructed on the thevar mala which is quite far away from the original site of the Nilackal Church.

St. Thomas Orthodox Valiyapally, Ranni
St.Thomas Orthodox Valiyapally alias Thottamon Church, located on Punalur - Muvattupuzha State Highway, is the first Orthodox Church in Ranni, 14 km from Pathanamthitta. Constructed in the year 1905, the church which is noted for its architectural beauty, was renovated in 2007. The parish is under the jurisdiction of the Malankara Metropolitan and the Catholicate of the East (Moran Mor Baselios Marthoma Didymos I) of the Orthodox Syrian Church in India and belongs to Thumpamon Diocese. The annual festival of this church is celebrated from December 17th to 21st.

St. George Orthodox Church, Chandanapally
St George Orthodox Church popularly known as Chandanapalli Valiapally, is one among the important churches in Asia devoted to Saint Gee Varghese Sahada. Located 10 Km from Pathanamthitta on Ezhakulam Kaipatoor route, this large pilgrim center houses the relics of the saint. The original church, built during the 17th century was demolished by fire and a new church was built in 1875 which was again reconstructed in 2000. Constructed in Indo-Saracenic architecture, the new church structure resembles St Peter's Basilica in Rome. In the church premise, there is a Kalkurishu (cross, cut from stone) which has carvings of saints and angels and it is believed that heart felt prayers with lighted candles will bring abundant blessings. The cross was constructed on a September 14th and every year on that day a feast is held in commemoration. The important feast of the church, that attracts lakhs of pilgrim, is celebrated annually from May 1st to 7th. Chembuduppu, i.e the rice cooked in copper pot, is a special ceremony connected with the festival. This cooked rice along with the pot is carried in a procession and is distributed among the pilgrims. It is believed that one can recover from sickness, by consuming this rice.

Jama - Al Mosque
Jama - Al Mosque situated in the heart of Pathanamthitta, is famous for its Chandanakkudam festival celebrated every year on the 2nd week of February (i.e on the 28th day of the Malayalam month Makaram). This colourful festival draws innumerable tourists and devotees.
