Originating from the Western Ghats, the Kali Nadi (Kali River) flows westward
and joins the Arabian sea near Karwar city. Motor launches are available
for boating in the river. Many dams are built across this river which
has the Upper Kaneri and Tattihalla as its tributaries. Tourists spots
like the Sadashivgad fort and the Ambe Joog Island are located on the
banks of the river. The fishermen of the Karwar coastal area depend on
this river for their livelihood.
