Farukhnagar

The octagonal shaped town, Farukhnagar was built by the local Nawab Faujdar Khan in the 18th century. The town, named after this ruler is situated about 21 km from the district headquarters, to the north-west near the border of the Rohtak district. The major tourist attractions here are the Sheesh Mahal and the Jami Masjid. Constructed by Faujdar Khan, Jami Masjid built of Agra red stone and decorated with commemorative marble tablet is quite famous. In  the southern wall of the courtyard, two slabs of red sand stone are affixed.

The beautiful village of Mubarakpur, with the shrine of Budho Mata is  located about 5 km from Farukhnagar.
