Raj
Ghat is a national shrine raised in memory of the our Father of Nation.
This simple square platform of black marble on the banks of the river
Yamuna marks is the place where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated. His last
words "He Ram" are inscribed on the platform which is surrounded
by a serene garden.
Apart from the Raj Ghat, the place has several shrines raised in the
memory of other national leaders. They are :
Shanti Van : Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru- Ist Prime Minister of India.
Vijay Ghat : Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri-Former Prime Minister of
India.
Shakti Stal : Smt. Indira Gandhi-Former Prime Minister
of India. Samta Sthal : Sri.Jagjeevan Ram-Former Deputy Prime Minister of
India. Veer Bhumi : Sri Rajeev Gandhi-Former Prime Minister of
India. Kisan Ghat : Sri. Charan Singh, Former Prime Minister
of India. Ekta Sthal : Sri Gyani Zai Sing-Former President of
India.
