Hundru falls
Hundru falls is located about 45km. east of Ranchi on Ranchi-Purulia Road. It
is a wonderful place for picnic. The Swarnarekha river falling from a height
of 320 feet, makes it breathtaking especially after the monsoons. It is one
of the highest water falls of the state. There is a beautiful pool which has
been formed at the base of the fall, which allows the visitors to enjoy bathing.
The rocks of different shapes formed from the attrition by the frequent fall
of water also add magnificence to the place and also offers trekking to the
visitors.
Johna falls
Jonha falls is located 40 kms away from Ranchi on the Purliya Highway. It is
a popular picnic spot near the Kanchi river . The scenery around it is very
attractive . One have to descend 500 steps to realize the beauty of the fall.
The falls are also known as Gautamdhara .The name is derived after Gautam Buddha
who is believed to have bathed here. There is a temple dedicated to Lord Gautam
Buddha and a rest house here. Every Tuesday and Saturday a fair is organized
in Johna. Tourists can enjoy this place by swimming, river rafting, bathing
in the waters of Johna falls and in Kanchi river. One can also go on for trekking
in the hills nearby the falls. The rest house offers accommodation and other
facilities to the tourists.There is another fall called Sita falls very near
to Johna falls. The best time to enjoy the beauty of Sita falls is in the early
morning .
Dashamghagh falls
It is situated about 34kms from Ranchi on the Ranchi-Tata highway in a beautiful
village Taimara . This magnificient falls formed from the Kanchi River. The
Kanchi river, falling from a height of about 144 feet makes a beautiful spectacle.
It is very amazing to see the dashing waters splattering on the ground. It
is one of the best waterfalls in Jharkhand. The beautiful scenic surroundings
of the falls is an added attraction to the tourists. It is dangerous to bath
in the falls as the stones are slippery and several people have drowned.
Hirni falls
This fall is situated amidst dense forest about 70 km from Ranchi
on way to Chakradharpur .This fall is surrounded by scenic beauties.
Panch Gagh falls

This fall is situated on Ranchi- Chakradharpur Road about 6 kms from the scenic
village Khunti. This fall is called Panch(five) Ghagh because it consists of
five streams in a row. It is very amazing to see the streams in a row falling
from a good height .
