Structure of General Aptitude Test:
SET is an aptitude test and is objective in nature. Each question has four
options as answers and carries one mark for correct answer. There is no negative
marking for wrong answers.

English: This section aims to check reading and writing
abilities in English. It deals with comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, syntax,
correct use of language etc.
Quantitative: This section has questions to check basic
abilities in mathematics and has largely a mix of questions in basic arithmetic
(e.g. time-work, profit-loss, ratio, percentage etc.), basic algebra, basic
geometry etc. This will be at the level of class 10.
General Awareness: This section has 60 questions. They
will broadly cover the areas like
. General Knowledge & Current Affairs
. Business Awareness
. IT Awareness
. Health Awareness
. Legal Awareness
For these topics one needs to be abreast of what is happening in the respective
areas. It will be useful to read such normally available publications as newspapers,
business magazines, IT magazines etc. that provide basic knowledge.
Health Awareness deals with general knowledge about diseases, environment,
fitness, National Health Programmes etc.
In case of legal awareness, those wishing to make a career in Law may like
to know more in depth but otherwise awareness about constitution and legal
issues in public life will provide good background.
Analytical & Logical Reasoning : This section checks
logical and analytical abilities.
The questions of SET are comparable to any national-level competitive tests
for degree programmes.

The Sections on English and Quantitative are similar to those in General Aptitude
Test. In case of Design Aptitude the questions will relate to creativity, hand
skills, visualisation skills etc.
