Eligibility
A candidate can attempt JEE only twice, in consecutive years.
Candidates applying for JEE should have either completed or should be appearing
in any one
of the following qualifying examinations :

The final examination of the 10+2 system, conducted by any recognized Central/State
Board, such as Central Board of Secondary Certificate Examination, New Delhi; etc.

Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/
University.

Final Examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence
Academy.

General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at
the Advanced (A) level.

High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University.

Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in any foreign country recognized by
the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to the 10+2 system
-
H.S.C. Vocational Examination.

Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with
Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as main subjects.

3 or 4-year Diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education.
In case the relevant qualifying examination is not a public examination,
the candidate must have passed at least one public (Board or Pre-University)
examination at an earlier level.
Candidates belonging to the general (GE) category and DS category must secure
a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate in their Qualifying Examination. Candidates
belonging to SC, ST and PD categories must secure a minimum of 55% in aggregate
in the Qualifying Examination. If any Board awards only letter grades without
providing an equivalent percentage of marks on the grade sheet, the candidate
should obtain a certificate from the Board specifying equivalent marks, and
submit it at the time of counselling. In case, such a certificate is not provided
by the candidate, the decision of the Joint Implementation Committee regarding
his/her eligibility shall be final.
All admissions are subject to verification of facts from the original certificates/documents
of the candidates. If an applicant is found ineligible at a later date even
after admission to an Institute, his/her admission will be cancelled. The
decision of the Joint Admission Board regarding the eligibility of any applicant
shall be final.
Domicile Restrictions
Candidates who wish to appear in the Joint Entrance Exam must be an Indian
Citizen and a permanent resident of Tripura, under the conditions of Govt.
of Tripura. Either the applicant or his/her parents must have been residing
in the state of Tripura continuously for not less than 10 years. Children
of All India Services Officers born in Manipur-Tripura Cadre and the Children
of the Employees of the State Government posted outside Tripura will be eligible
to appear at the examination irrespective of their prior stay in Tripura.

stay in Tripura. On the other hand, if a candidate is not a permanent resident
of Tripura but his/her parents is a deputed officer to the Govt. of Tripura
/ officer of the Central Government working in Tripura and had served continuously
for a period of 3 years or more and passed Higher Secondary Examination from
an Institution of Tripura, he/she is eligible for seats of Tripura Engineering
College only.If the parents of the candidates is working as wards of Ex- Servicemen,
they should also been staying in Tripura continuously for not less than five
years, from the date of obtaining the application form for appearing at the
Joint Entrance Examination. And he/she should be passed in the HSC Examination
with subjects that desires to appear in the Joint Entrance Examination. The
same formality is applicable for the candidates of the serving Defence personnel
(Army / navy / Air Force).
Age Limit
The maximum age limit will be 25 on the year of admission. In the case of
SC, ST and PD candidates, upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years. Only the
date of birth as recorded in the High School/first Board/Pre-University Certificate
will be taken as authentic. Candidates must produce this certificate in original
as a proof of their age at the time of counselling, failing which they
will be disqualified.
Physical Fitness
All qualified candidates will have to submit a Physical Fitness certificate
from a Registered Medical Practitioner in the prescribed format that will
be made available to them at an appropriate time. They will be admitted only
if they are physically fit for pursuing a course of study at the participating
Institutes.
