Admission
Admission is on the basis of merit in CET held in the month of May at various centres in
the state and also at Chandigarh, Delhi, Jammu and Kurukshetra. Punjab
University will publish a merit list of candidates who obtain 15% marks (10% for
SC / ST / BC ) in aggregate. Admission of candidates to Architecture course is
made as per their merit position in CET secured on the basis of marks obtained
by them in the subject of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and Architectural
aptitude test. Candidates who qualify the test are informed individually and
the list of successful candidates is notified in leading newspapers. The
admission to Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala and other
three affiliated to the Punjab University, Chandigarh shall be based on the
relative merit of candidates determined by the result of the Joint Entrance
Test.
Seats
The seats allotted for the candidates of the Punjab residents is 85% and
the rest 15% are open on All India basis. In all private unaided and
Management Institutions, one third of the total seats will be considered as
Management Quota. The distribution of the seats in the colleges affiliated to PTU are on the
