National Institute of Homeopathy, Kolkata- BHMS Admission 2007

All India Admission Test on 12th August 2007
Applications are invited on two A4 size paper (form can be downloaded from institute’s website) (one page for the application proforma and one page for the identification card) according to format given below from intending candidates of Indian Nationality for Admission to 5 ½ yrs Degree Course (BHMS) in Homoeopathy (including one year Compulsory rotatory Internship) at the National Institute of Homoeopathy, Kolkata, affiliated to the West Bengal University of Health Sciences for the academic year 2007-2008
 
 Last Date of Submission of Application Forms : July 16, 2007
 Date of All India Admission Test : August 12, 2007
 Date of Publication of the result of Admission Test : August 27, 2007
 

Eligibility :

Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent examination with five subjects including Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English and obtained 50% marks in aggregate for general candidates and 45% marks for the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates are eligible to apply.

The candidates should attain 17 years of age by 31st December 2007. The candidates who have appeared for Higher secondary (10+2) examination with above subjects in the current year are also eligible to apply. Their candidature will be taken into consideration provided that the result of examination is published before the admission and they have secured the required percentage of marks which has to be substantiated by production of documentary proof. Blind (including colour blind) deaf and/or dumb candidates are not eligible to apply for the course.

Selection :

The selection will be made on the basis of an all India written competitive test (Admission Test) to be held at Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore and Thiruvananthapuram centres (If minimum required number of candidates are not available at Bangalore and Thiruvananthapuram centres, those opting for these two centres will be allocated to Chennai centre).

The admission test will be of three hours duration and carrying an aggregate of 200 marks. The pattern of questions will be of multiple choice (single correct answer) type 200 questions - Physics (60 questions), Chemistry (60 questions), Biology (60 questions) and General Knowledge (20 questions).

Reservation : Of the total seats 15% seats will be reserved for SC and 7.5% seats will be reserved for ST candidates. Other reservations are according to the rules of the insititute.

Application Procedure :

Filled application (in candidate’s own handwriting) is to be sent along with a self addressed, stamped (Rs.15/-) envelope (size 31X12 c.m.) and a Bank draft for Rs.325/- (Rupees Three hundred and twenty five only) payable at Kolkata, in favour of Director, National Institute of Homoeopathy, Kolkata (IPO/Cheque/Cash/Money order will not be accepted). No bank draft is required in case of SC/ST candidates but a copy of caste certificate attested by a Gazetted Officer should acompany the application. Also enclose 04 (four) identical copies of recent (taken after 30th May 2007, with a placard showing candidate’s name and date of photo / the photographs should be taken without spectacles and cap/hat) passport size (3.5cm x 4.5 cm) colour photographs. [02 (two) copies are to be pasted on the specified area on the application, which should be attested by a Gazetted Officer after pasting with part of signature on the photograph and part of signature on the application form, other 02 (two) unpasted should be signed on the reverse by candidate].

The duly filled in application should reach Director, National Institute of Homoeopathy, Block-GE, Sector-III, Salt Lake, Kolkata – 700106

Admit card and prospectus will be sent by post and list of candidates with their Roll numbers and Centres will also be available in the NIH
