General Awareness: Questions are
designed to test the ability of the candidate's general awareness of the
environment around him and its application to society. Questions are also
designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday
observations and experiences in their scientific aspect, as may be expected of
an educated person. The tests also include questions relating to India and its
neighbouring countries, especially pertaining to History, culture, geography,
economic scene, general polity and scientific research.
Language Test: Questions in this test
will be set to assess the knowledge of Hindi/English Language, its vocabulary,
grammar, sentence structure, synonyms and antonyms, etc. There will also be
questions on comprehension of passages.
Shorthand Test: It will comprise 300
marks and is to be for those who qualify at the written test. In this test
candidates are given one dictation test in English or Hindi at 80 words per
minute for 10 minutes. The candidates who opt to take the test in English are
required to transcribe the matter in 65 minutes and the candidates who opt to
take the test in Hindi are required to transcribe it in 75 minutes.
